Special Thanks to VeeV for providing socially responsible beverages.
VeeV is the worlds first ‘Acai’ spirit. Grown and harvested in the Brazilian rainforest, this Brazilian national fruit grows atop palm trees and is considered a superfood, packed with antioxidants, amino acids and healthy fats.
VeeV donates $1 from every bottle sold to the protection and replenishment of the Brazilian Amazon Rain-forest through Sambazon’s Sustainable Açai Project which directly benefit the farming communities that harvest Acai berries, promote organic certification, and ensure that Acai is wild harvested to preserve the surrounding flora and protect biodiversity. It also works towards promoting the alignment of corporate and governmental policies and conservation efforts.
VeeV’s distiller is the only distillery in America to get their energy through wind-powered generated power. Not to mention the distillation process uses 200% less energy than with traditional methods.
VeeV has also partnered with Climate Clean to become certified carbon neutral. VeeV is the first alcohol brand to do this. When an organization sets out to be carbon neutral, it is usually achieved by three steps:
-Limiting energy usage and emissions from transportation, building, equipment and processes (everything from their boxes to their bottles comes from recycled materials)
-Obtaining electricity from a renewable source(which is their case is the use wind-generated power)
- And by offsetting the remaining emissions that cannot be avoided or generated from renewable sources(which in VeeV’s case is partnering with Climate Clean. Visit their website for more about their practices, www.climateclean.net)
